MillfieldMillfield Mencap Day

Saturday 25th June

With over 50 activities to choose from, our 18+ members had a great time at Millfield school on 25th June.

A private school in Street, Somerset, Millfield holds an open day every year for all of the Mencap groups in the South West. Despite the sun only shining for part of the day, the group had a fantastic time meeting other Mencap societies and trying new activities including trampolining, penalty shoot out, softball, croquet, drumming and percussion and dance aerobics.

A delicious lunch was provided in the school canteen and the day ended with everyone taking part in a fun run around the school field.

The on-site pool and waterslide were popular with the members as was the award winning restaurant! We had a very special 40th birthday whilst we were away and had great fun celebrating the special day. It was a busy week with lots of fun had by all that attended.

PuxtonPuxton Park

Saturday 14th May 2011

With the sun shining and plenty of volunteers on hand, the children of Keynsham Mencap Society enjoyed a fun-filled day out at Puxton Park near Weston Super Mare.

Thanks to the help and support of the Keynsham Lions, 30 children from the Society along with volunteer helpers, spent the day playing in the adventure park and making the most of the many attractions available such as the animal displays, tractor rides and giant soft play.

The day out was organised by Keynsham Lions, many of whom were on hand during the day. A hot lunch was provided by the café and a great time was had by all.
