Our Clubs

 

 

 

 

Keynsham & District Mencap Society provides social and leisure activities for children and adults with learning and or physical disabilities.

 

Membership to Keynsham & District Mencap Society costs £35 per year. This is an annual membership fee. Once you become a member you can join as many of the clubs as you wish.

 

All clubs charge subs. These vary – please see individual clubs for information.

 

Keynsham Juniors

This club runs on a Tuesday from 5.45 – 7.15 for children aged 5 – 11 and on a Thursday from 5.45 – 7.30pm for children aged 11 – 18.
It is based at Somerdale Lodge on Fry’s site in Keynsham.
It is ran by a paid leader and deputy and supported by a volunteer team.
Subs cost £3 a week, paid in advance at the start of each term.

 

Radstock Juniors

This club runs on a Tuesday from 6.00 – 7.30pm for children aged 11 – 18.
It is based at Radstock Youth Club.
It is ran by a paid leader and supported by a volunteer team.
Subs cost £3 a week paid in advance at the start of each half term.

 

Super Saturday Club

This club runs on a Saturday morning from 9.30am – 12.30pm for children aged 5 – 18.
It is based at Three Ways School in Odd Down, Bath.
It is ran by a paid leader, deputies and project assistants and a volunteer team.
This new club is funded by BBC Children in Need and offers vital social opportunities for special needs children at the weekend.
Transport is provided from Keynsham.

 

Subs costs £2 a week, paid in advance at the start of each term. Transport costs an additional £1 a week.

 

These clubs offer a variety of activities which develop skills, increase confidence and allow the children access to regular social, play, leisure and informative learning opportunities. Types of activity on offer include trampolining, pottery, art and craft, music, dance, sports, cookery, swimming and trips out in the local community.

 

18+ Club

This is our group for adults which meet every other Thursday evening. Our 18+ club currently has 72 members, split into 6 groups who do different activities within the local community each fortnight.
Types of activities include bowling, cinema, pub evening, meals out, quiz nights, bingo, badminton, swimming, local events and much more!
Times and locations of sessions vary slightly depending on activity but core hours are from 7 – 9.30pm.
Members are given a programme of activities in advance that will say where they need to be each week, what time and how much money they need to bring.

 

Subs cost £12 every 5 months.

 

Football

Our football club gives our members the chance to enjoy a popular sport and improve their skills. Our Keynsham Mencap team is entered into the South West Abilities League and play regular league games across the South West. We are currently second in the league!
You don’t need any football skills or knowledge to join football club, just a willingness to get involved and a positive attitude!
Football club runs every Tuesday from 7 – 8pm at Broadlands School in Keynsham.

 

Subs cost £3 a week, paid in advance in 10 week blocks.
